A few of Equipment Link's finest golfers, Roger Bluml and Kent McCormick, participated in last months Murphy Tractor / John Deere 4-man scramble golf tournament. Unaware of the stiff competition from both competitors and the course, Team EL went down in flames carding a 1-over 73 and finished near the bottom half of the pack. Players searched for the right words to sum up their day.
McCormick, who appeared miffed by his team's performance, mumbled, "Frickin' Bluml!..If he could pull his own weight on this team, we wouldn't have embarrassed ourselves like this. I knew we shoulda got George to play instead. At least he can launch a 4-iron."
Ironically enough, Bluml had the same mindset as McCormick. "Christ, this guy (McCormick) plays week in and week out and leads us to 1-over par? Ridiculous. We might as well have come out here, handed out cards, and gone home for the day."
Team EL will look to turn things around at their next outing: Dinner at Twin Peaks. At least the team morale and camaraderie should be much more enjoying - just like the scenery.
